Database Partitioning and Archive Reliability

Connexion v26 improves database partition maintenance and the reliability of Tier 2 archiving and historical message operations.

  • Per-group SQL Server retention. SQL Server Queue V2 now honors group-specific partition intervals and Tier 1 retention, falling back to repository defaults where no group override is set.

  • Partitioning stability. Improvements cover boundary creation, maintenance locks, UTC day boundaries, retention timing and cleanup after groups are deleted. Queue statistics stay consistent when old partitions are removed.

  • Archive recovery. Archive maintenance recovers more reliably from failed or interrupted Tier 2 copies, and canceled exports are not reported as complete.

  • Archive retention and encryption. Groups sharing an archive folder keep their own retention settings. Group-specific archive destinations retain the repository's at-rest encryption configuration.

  • Historical queries. Improvements cover paging, totals, date ranges and exports spanning Tier 1 and Tier 2.

  • Archive correlation and source tracing. Correlation indexes and source tracing handle archived partitions, interrupted copies and missing archive files more reliably.

  • Copy archived messages. Copy selected or matching Tier 2 messages back to a queue with attachments and original ordering. Unreadable stored data is surfaced for an explicit skip-or-cancel decision.

  • Apply archive settings while running. Updated Tier 2 settings and SQL Server archive worker counts take effect without a service restart.
