PHI Masking
The Connexion (and Gateway) UIs have a feature which can mask PHI displayed on the screen. This is useful when multiple people may be viewing the application (shared screen, etc.).
This is a ‘best effort’ feature which does not make any guarantees. Please ensure this feature provides any required masking prior to other viewing your screen.
Masking works by hiding specific columns in the queue device, as well as hiding parts of the inbound and outbound message windows. There is support for HL7v2, JSON, and XML formats. If you are viewing other formats (like unstructured text), no masking is done.
To toggle masking, use the toolbar button.
For HL7v2, you can configure which fields will be masked by clicking the mask button on the viewer.
Other viewers (JSON, XML) will mask all attributes and values in the message.
