Change History

The Change History feature is a central place where changes to channel and device configurations can be viewed. It also keeps track of deleted channels for a limited amount of time.

For viewing changes for a specific channel, you can also use that channels context menu directly.

When working with the Change History tab, you should first select a channel from the channels drop-down. You can then select a row from the list of change histories.

When selecting a specific row, the bottom pane will display the configuration delta. Look for the indicator which shows which versions are being compared - in the image above it is the Version 1 → Version 2 text block.

Note that each device within the channel which has changes will be shown normally, and unchanged devices will be faded.

There are several different views available, depending on which one you prefer. By default, the configuration in JSON format is displayed, with only changed lines highlighted (unchanged lines are hidden). You can click the Show Entire Configuration hyperlink to show all lines of the configuration, and the Side-by-side View hyperlink to view the old and new configurations in separate panes.

If you wish to revert to an earlier version of a channel, select the desired version from the Change Histories list and then click the Revert to version X button. The standard import dialog will be displayed showing the changes which will be applied.

You can also export specific versions of a channel for import into other systems.

Use the Find Deleted Channels to view channels which have been deleted and still have change history records available.

Change history records are automatically purged from the database, based on the Channel Change History Retention setting (default 90 days).

Change the retention on the Settings tab.
